Police Ombudsman Investigate Misconduct Allegation

The Police Ombudsman have launched an investigation into an allegation that a PSNI officer "photographed a dead person and shared at least one image by phone".

The allegation was first reported by the Irish News, however the circumstances of the alleged incident have not been revealed.

The Ombudsman confirmed that an investigation had been launched, but would not "comment further".

It is understood that the family of the deceased allegedly photographed have been informed of the investigation.

Investigation Launched After Reports Of Shots Fired In L'Derry
Police have launched an investigation following reports a number of shots were fired in L'Derry. The incident is believed to have happened in the Old School Lane area on Wednesday, 31 May. Police were contacted by members of the public, however there were no reports of any injuries or damage to properties.

Investigation Launched Following Arson Attack On Baptist Church
Police have launched an investigation following an arson attack on a Baptist Church in Co Down. Tyres were put up against the side of the building on the Loughbrickland Road in Rathfriland and set alight between 11pm and 11.30pm on Wednesday, 18 May. Damaged was caused to the side of the church and windows.
