Woman Attacked By Masked Gang Armed With Hammers

Police have issued an appeal for information after a woman was assaulted in her home in Carrickfergus, County Antrim.

According to police, the woman, aged in her 40s, was in bed at her home on Sunningdale Crescent, when five masked me, armed with hammers, forced their way into the house at around 10pm on Tuesday night. The woman was assaulted and needed hospital treatment for injuries to her hands and face.

It is understood that there were two other women in the house at the time of the attack but were uninjured.

Anyone with information about the incident, or anyone who may have witnessed anything, is asked to contact police.

Appeal For Information On Armed Robbery In East Belfast
PSNI Detectives in East Belfast have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following an armed robbery which took place on the Belmont Road on Saturday June 11th. Pupils To Be Provided With Information Ahead Of Exams
Pupils taking GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications will be provided with advance information ahead of the exam. Education Minister Michelle McIlveen has outlined arrangements for awarding CCEA qualifications in 2023. The Minister also announced a £2million Qualifications Support Programme to further support pupils preparing for exams next year.

Woman left in critical condition following stabbing
A woman has been left in a critical condition in hospital after she was stabbed at a house in west Belfast at the weekend. The victim, who is believed to be in her 40s, sustained chest wounds in the stabbing which occurred at a house in Norglen Parade at around 5.30pm on Sunday.

Woman Sexually Assaulted In Omagh
Police have appealed for information after a 24-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Omagh. The attack is thought to have happened in a walkway in the Johnston Park area between 1am and 3am on Sunday (30 November). Detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may be able to assist the investigation.
