Drugs And Cash Seized In Investigation Linked To INLA Criminality

A quantity of suspected Class A controlled drugs with an estimated street value of £6,000 and a quantity of cash has been seized during a search operation in L'Derry by the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force, investigating criminality linked to the INLA.

Detective Chief Inspector, Avine Kelly said: "The possession and supply of drugs within communities should not, and indeed will not, be tolerated.

"This search and seizure reflects our ongoing commitment to safeguarding local people.

"We will continue to work with communities and partners to disrupt those involved in such criminal activities and reduce the harm they cause in our communities.

Pupils To Be Provided With Information Ahead Of Exams
Pupils taking GCSE, AS and A Level qualifications will be provided with advance information ahead of the exam. Education Minister Michelle McIlveen has outlined arrangements for awarding CCEA qualifications in 2023. Appeal For Information On Armed Robbery In East Belfast
PSNI Detectives in East Belfast have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following an armed robbery which took place on the Belmont Road on Saturday June 11th. Making the appeal, Detective Sergeant McVeagh said: “Police received a report just after 5pm that a man had entered a shop holding a large kitchen knife in his right hand.

A report published today by the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety has revealed that one-in-three secondary school pupils reported having been offered drugs and one in four had tried or used an illicit drug on at least one occasion.

Man Jailed For Drugs Offences
A Newtownabbey man has been handed a custodial sentence for a series of drugs offences following police raids as part of a paramilitary probe. 49-year-old William Axon will serve two years imprisonment, half in custody and half on licence.
