Teenager Injured After Car Attacked In Downpatrick

A teenager has been taken to hospital after the car she was travelling in was attacked in Downpatrick.

Police said they had been dealing with an "ongoing disorder" in the Killough Road area which resulted in a car window being smashed with what is believed to have been a rock.

The occupants of the car were injured and a teenage girl was taken to hospital after she was struck.

Inspector Heatley said: "We are investigating reports that the rock may have been thrown from a nearby alleyway. In light of recent incidents of anti-social behaviour, I am also appealing to those involved to keep a cool head and think about the consequences of your actions which could lead to a criminal record.

"Officers will also continue to provide a visible policing presence in the Downpatrick area and police would appeal to anyone who witnesses any anti-social behaviour to contact them. If you have any information, mobile, or dash-cam footage that could help us with our ongoing investigation you can contact police on 101 quoting reference number 2019 of 06/09/22."

PSNI Identify Body Recovered From Lough Neagh
A body recovered in a coastline area of Lough Neagh on Sunday 18th February has been identified as Alan Whiteside. The 33-year-old Mr Whiteside was reported missing to police in Antrim on Sunday, 17 December. PSNI Detective Inspector Lenaghan said that Mr Whiteside was identified following a post-mortem examination.

Appeal After Masked Men Force Entry Into Home Of Elderly Man
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after five masked me forced entry into the home of an man aged in his 70s, on the Saintfield Road. Police received a report shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday, 17th February that between 10pm and 10.30pm on the same evening, five masked men entered a house in the Saintfield Road area.

A former police station in Belfast city centre is to be redeveloped for a new 74-bedroom hotel. Belfast City Council's Planning Committee approved the development on Queen Street, along with granting Listed Building Consent to bring the building into use again.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.
