Man Due In Court Charged With Ballymena Attack

A 28-year-old man is due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates Court charged with the attempted murder of a man in Ballymena.

A man sustained serious injuries to his head, neck and abdomen in an attack at his home in the town.

In an incident on Grove Road at around 4am the attacker is alleged to have forced his way into the victim's home and stabbed him a number of times.

The 28-year-old has also been charged with aggravated burglary, possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Accused man claimed he 'did not mean to kill wife'
