Man Attacked With Iron Bars In Skeoge Area Of L'Derry

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following an aggravated burglary in the Skeoge area of L'Derry, during which a man was beaten by masked men armed with iron bars.

The attackers are reported to have forced entry to a house in Beraghvale between 1am and 2am on Sunday 2nd April, damaging a window and door before assaulting the victim who is aged in his twenties. The attackers are also reported to have stolen money from the house. The victim required hospital treatment for head and body injuries.

Detectives are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area, and saw or heard anything out of the ordinary, or anyone who may assist their enquiries to establish who ws involved and a motive.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.

Man Injured After Shots Fired At House In Rathfriland
An investigation has been launched after shots were fired at a house in Rathfriland in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, 05 March. Police received a report that two shots had been fired through the front window of a house in the Wright's Park area at around 12.35am, causing minor injuries to a man who was in the living room at the time.

Banbridge Shooting: Man Hands Himself Into Police
A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder in Banbridge. On Friday, 12 April, a 40-year-old man was shot by a masked man as he sat in a vehicle in a car park on the Rathfriland Road. The shooting victim remains in a critical condition in hospital.
