Woman Arrested In Connection With Stabbing In Coleraine

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of a stabbing in Coleraine.

Police received a report at approximately 6.15pm on Tuesday, 18th April that a man had been stabbed at a property in the Westbourne Crescent area.

Attending the scene, PSNI officer and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service discovered a man, aged in his 40s, with stab wounds to his upper body.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and remains in police custody at present, assisting with our enquiries.

An investigation is underway and anyone who thinks they could help are asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1684 of 18/04/23.

Appeal For Information On Kilkeel Arson Attacks
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following the report of two arson incidents in the Kilkeel area. It was reported to police that at around 2.25am on Monday 06 May, that a Volkswagen Passat parked in the Munro Villas area had the windows smashed and an accelerant poured inside. The vehicle was set alight and extensively damaged.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested by officers investigating a stabbing in Newry. At approximately 5pm on Monday, 18 September, police received a report that a man, aged in his 30s, had been stabbed inside a property in the Richmond Court area of the city.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Two men die in separate stabbing incidents
Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.
