Eleven Arrests Made In DCI Caldwell Investigation

Nine men and two women have been arrested by detectives investigating the attempted murder of Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell.

DCI Caldwell was shot a number of times by masked gunmen as he packed his car following a teenagers football training session at Omagh Youthsport.

Detectives from the PSNI's Major Investigation Team conducted a significant search and arrest operation early this morning, Friday 26 May.

Eleven people - nine men and two women - aged between 21 and 72 years old were arrested under the Terrorism Act in Omagh and Coalisland.

They have been taken to the Serious Crime Suite in Musgrave where they are currently being questioned by detectives.

Two Men Arrested Following Magherafelt Cannabis Seizure
Two men have been arrested in connection with the seizure of suspected cannabis in Magherafelt. At around 4pm on Sunday 12th May, officers conducted a search of a vehicle under the Misuse of Drugs Act which was parked at the Station Road area. Following the search of the vehicle, two subsequent searches were conducted at two properties in the town.
