Appeal For Information On West Belfast Shooting

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a shooting in west Belfast on Thursday 8th June.

A man, aged in his 20s, was taken into City Cemetery in the Falls Road area by two masked men and was shot in the foot. The incident occurred shortly after 10.30pm last night.

The victim was taken to hospital by our Northern Ireland Ambulance Service for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.

Sergeant McCrum said: "This shooting is a clear violation of the victim's human rights. Everyone has the right to live their life free from the threat of violence.

"There is no justification for this type of attack. Those responsible place not just the victim at risk, but also the wider community.

"Our investigation has just begun. We are appealing to anyone who was in the area last night who noticed anything suspicious, or who may have dash-cam or mobile footage that could help with our enquiries, to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 2231 of 08/06/23."

Man Has Parts Of Both Ears Bitten Off During Assault
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following an incident in which a man had a part of each ear bitten off. The incident occurred at a licensed premises in the High Street area of Antrim, shortly before 12.10am on Sunday 12th May. Appeal For Information On Kilkeel Arson Attacks
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following the report of two arson incidents in the Kilkeel area. It was reported to police that at around 2.25am on Monday 06 May, that a Volkswagen Passat parked in the Munro Villas area had the windows smashed and an accelerant poured inside. The vehicle was set alight and extensively damaged.
