Pipe bomb explodes outside house in Bangor

Police have confirmed that a pipe-bomb type device has exploded outside a house in Bangor, Co Down.

A police spokesperson said that the device was left at the front door of a house at Beechwood Avenue in the town and exploded at around 11.30pm yesterday.

Police are investigating reports that two youths were seen running from the scene prior to the explosion.

The front door, window and steps of the house were damaged by the blast. The house was believed to have been unoccupied at the time and no one was injured in the attack.

Pregnant woman treated for shock following attack
A pregnant woman has escaped injury after a flammable device was thrown at her house in Armagh yesterday. The device was thrown at the front door of the house in the Lisannally Gardens area at around 9.45pm on Sunday. Scorch damage was done to the front door whilst a number of windows were also broken in the attack.

A young mother has said she feared for her life during an arson attack on her Londonderry home. Lisa Cruikshank, 27, became aware of blazes outside her front and back door when her smoke alarm went off on Saturday morning.

'Pipe Bomb' Explodes In Tobermore
The PSNI is investigating after a "pipe bomb type" device exploded in the Castle Park area of Tobermore, L'Derry, in the early hours of this morning (18 March). Police said a number of rear windows were damaged when the device exploded shortly before 01:00. Two adults and three children were in the house at the time, but were not injured.
