Appeal For Information And Witnesses To Belfast Stabbing

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of a stabbing in Belfast in the early hours of Sunday 15th October.

At around 2.25am, police received a report of a stabbing outside a fast food shop in the Dublin Road area. It was reported that a man, aged in his 30s, was stabbed and received a slash wound to his face.

Members of the public restrained the suspect, a 37-year-old man, before police arrived and arrested him on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody at this time.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said: "Colleagues from NIAS also attended and brought the injured man to hospital for treatment.

"I know there was a large number of people in the area at the time and I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the stabbing, or have any information to come forward. I am also appealing to anyone with mobile phone or dash-cam footage that could help with enquiries to contact police on 101 quoting reference 243 of 15/10/23."

Two men die in separate stabbing incidents
Two people have been killed in separate stabbing incidents in Northern Ireland over the weekend. Hugh McKibben, 51, of Main Street in Carrowdore died in a stabbing incident at a house on Inisharoan Court about midnight on Sunday May 5. Four people were arrested following his murder but three have since been released on police bail.

Man Arrested Following Two Stabbing Incidents In Belfast
A 27-year-old man has been arrested following two stabbing incidents in Belfast city centre. The injuries to both victims are not believed to be life-threatening. Inspector Donna McGrady said police were alerted at about 1.15am by a member of the public on Bedford Street to a fight going on in the area.
