Police appeal following body find in house

The body of a man has been found at a house in Co Antrim on Thursday.

The man, who is believed to be in his 50's, was discovered at the house in Ladysmith Terrace in the Harryville area of Ballymena at around 9pm.

Police have appealed for information into tracing the man's movements over the last few days.

It is understood he was last seen alive on Monday.

Pipe Bombs Explode Outside Armagh House
Police have reported that two viable pipe bombs have exploded outside a house in Armagh. The front door of a property in the Windmill Avenue area was damaged in the explosion at around 11.30pm on Tuesday night, 16 April. Detectives are working to establish a motive for the incident.

Fire Service Lowers 'People At Risk' Age To 50 And Older
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has lowered the age group of those deemed most at risk from accidental house fires to people aged 50 and older. It follows the death of 19 people in the last three years, 17 of which were aged over 50. Nine of the victims were aged 50-59 and a further eight were 60 and above.

Bakery Fined After NI Child Suffers Allergic Reaction To A Biscuit
A Scottish Bakery has been fined £6,000 after failing to label a biscuit that contained eggs correctly, causing a child from Northern Ireland to suffer a reaction. The parents of the four-year-old boy were aware of their child's allergy and checked the ingredients on the 'Empire' biscuit, a product of Inverness-Shire based Nevis Bakery Limited.

Man questioned about 1988 murder
A man has been arrested in connection with police inquiries into a murder in 1988. The body of Lily Smyth, 66, was found in her flat at Moveen House in Dunmurry on October 9, 1988. The pensioner had been strangled. A police spokesperson said that a 43-year-old man had been arrested and is being questioned at Antrim Police Station.
