New Cost-Of-Living Support Guide Published

A new guide to help people in need of support this winter due to the ongoing high cost-of-living has been launched by Belfast Lord Mayor, Councillor Ryan Murphy. The cost-of-living support guide lists organisations across Belfast offering advice and support with energy, food and other costs. It also includes information on community based welcome spaces and information about specific help for families and older people. Councillor Murphy said: "At Council, we are acutely aware that households are continuing to face real pressures this year due to the high cost-of-living. With poverty levels at an all-time high, and with Christmas just around the corner, it is a particularly stressful time for many people. "Our cost-of-living support guide will hopefully prove to be an extremely useful resource for the most vulnerable. We know that people aren't always aware of the breadth of support services that is available, including help for families and individuals in need of emergency support, so it could make a big difference. I would therefore encourage anyone in need of help this winter to pick up a copy." The free cost-of-living support guide is available at community centres, leisure centres, public libraries and advice service providers across the city. The information within the guide is also listed on the council's website, along with a full list of locations where people can pick up a printed guide.
