Two Men Arrested Following Assault In Armagh

Two men have been arrested in connection with an assault in Armagh on Tuesday, 16 January.

Shortly after 2.20pm, it was reported to police that a man, aged in his 50s, has been assaulted in a house in the Ballynahone Crescent area.

Officers attended and arrested two men, aged 40 and 53, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. The 40-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assault on police. They both remain in police custody at this time.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries.

Officers remain in the area to conduct enquiries and we are appealing to anyone with information, who witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage, should contact police at www.psni.police.uk/report or phone 101 quoting reference 951 of 16/01/24."

Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnapping
Police have arrested two men on suspicion of kidnapping. The males, aged 33 and 31, were detained in Co L'Derry. It is believed there arrests are in connection with an incident in the city on Thursday, 26 October. No further details have been released.

Suspected Firearm Recovered During PSNI Operation In Ardmore
The PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit (TIU) have recovered a suspected firearm in Ardmore in L'Derry. During a search in the Rushall Road area, the suspected firearm was located in the vicinity of a graveyard. Enquiries continue, and the suspected firearm will now be the subject of forensic testing.

Guns stolen in Co Antrim assault
Police are appealing for information after a gang assaulted a man and stole his guns in Co Antrim. The masked men forced their way into the man's home in Burnbrae in Bushmills at around 1.30am on Tuesday morning. They hit the man before tying his hands behind his back and escaping with three guns.

Three Arrested In Connection With Ballymena Murder
Police are treating the death of a 69-year-old man from Ballymena as murder. The victim was discovered in the Drumtara area on Tuesday afternoon. Two men, aged 41 and 49, and a woman, 47, have been arrested and are in police custody. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
