Limavady Murder Victim Named As 17-Year-Old Blake Newland

A 17-year-old boy murdered in a stabbing in Limavady on Friday, 02 February has been named by the PSNI as Blake Newland.

At around 9.35pm last Friday night, police responded to a report that a man, aged his 50s, has been stabbed in an incident in the Limavady area. Investigating officers discovered Blake in a nearby house, seriously injured with stab wounds. Blake was taken to hospital where he subsequently died from his injuries.

The second injured man was taken to hospital, where he remains for treatment to injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this time.

Six males have now been arrested and are currently in police custody assisting with enquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Gibson said: "We are at an early stage of this murder investigation and officers remain in the area conducting enquiries. We are appealing to witnesses or anyone with information to contact detectives on 101 quoting 1924 02/02/24. Four Charged In Connection With Blake Newland Murder
Four people are due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court charged in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Blake Newland. The Limavady teenager died after being found with serious stab wounds at a house in the town on Friday, 02 February. Detectives investigating the murder, have now charged two men, aged 27 and 29, with murder.

Renewed Appeal For Information On Murder Of Blake Newland
PSNI Major Investigation Team Detectives have renewed an appeal for information one week on from the murder of Blake Newland. The teenager was stabbed multiple times in the Woodland Walk area of Limavady on Friday night, 2 February. Sadly, he later died from his injuries.

Charred remains of man found in Limavady
The charred remains of a man have been discovered by police in Limavady, County Londonderry, at the weekend. Detectives made the discovery at the back of a Masonic Hall at Linenhall Street in Limavady at around teatime on Sunday. The victim's body was so badly burned that a post mortem examination was needed to identify the sex of the person.

Arrest Over Attempted Murder
Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident on the Limestone Road in north Belfast on Friday night. A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries sustained during the attack, in which a number of people are believed to have been involved.
