Economy Minister Meets With Further Education Unions
Economy Minister, Conor Murphy, has held a meeting with representatives of the UCU and NASUWT unions representing workers in the further education sector to discuss the requirements of a new pay award.
Following the meeting, Minister Murphy said: "I am very keen to ensure further education staff get a pay uplift as soon as possible. Today’s meeting with representatives from the UCU and NASUWT unions was constructive. Further education staff have faced real challenges over the past two years, but have continued to deliver high quality teaching and learning opportunities to their students.
"Some issues remain to be worked through and resolved between the college employers and the unions, and we are also operating within a difficult financial context. But I hope that we will soon be in a position to deliver a pay award."
The Minister concluded: "We also discussed the staff exit scheme. I am currently taking advice on the options available to me for the future of the scheme."

Politicians Help 'Kick Hate Into Touch'
An innovative campaign, the 'Unite Against Hate' sporting weekend has been launched. Stormont First Minister Peter Robinson and his Junior Minister Gerry Kelly (pictured) joined forces to support the campaign which highlights all forms of hate crime and challenges people here to unite to stop it.

Economy Minister Launches Latest All Ireland Scholarships Scheme
Minister for the Economy, Conor Murphy, has announced the launch of the latest All Ireland Scholarships Scheme for students in Northern Ireland. The value of each scholarship is £5,500 per annum for the duration of their undergraduate programme. The All Ireland Scholarships were established in 2008 by JP McManus.

Education Minister Welcomes Progress On Teacher's Pay
Education Minister, Paul Givan, has welcomed further progress on a pay settlement for teachers following the Department of Finance's approval of the pay award. All five recognised teachers' unions (INTO, NAHT, NASUWT, NEU, UTU) have signalled their acceptance of the teachers' pay offer for 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24.

New Abuse And Violence Strategy Consultations Extended
The development period of two new Executive strategies aimed at tackling violence against women and girls and domestic and sexual abuse have been extended until 21 March. Justice Minister Naomi Long and Health Minister Robin Swann made the announcement as part of the Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week.
