25-Year-Old Charged With Murder Of Bobbie McKee

A 25-year-old man has been charged in connection with the murder of Bobbie McKee in Kilkeel.

Mr McKee (69) died shortly after being found seriously injured at his home in the Newcastle Road area on Thursday 21 March.

The man has also been charged with the attempted murder of Mr McKee's wife, who remains in a serious condition in hospital.

Detective Chief Inspector Anthony Kelly said: "While our Major Investigation Team detectives are continuing to investigate the murder, a number of further searches are still being conducted.

"I would once again like to reassure the community that whilst the investigation is active and ongoing, we are not seeking any other suspect or suspects at this time, I would also like to thank them for their understanding and assistance with our enquiries throughout this very difficult time for the McKee family."

As is usual procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Suspected Firearm Recovered During PSNI Operation In Ardmore
The PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit (TIU) have recovered a suspected firearm in Ardmore in L'Derry. During a search in the Rushall Road area, the suspected firearm was located in the vicinity of a graveyard. Enquiries continue, and the suspected firearm will now be the subject of forensic testing.

Man And Boys Seriously Injured In Enniskillen Crash
A man and three boys have been seriously injured in a one vehicle crash in County Fermanagh, according to the PSNI. The collision involving a white Mitsubishi L200 Titan happened on the A32 Mossfield Road, Enniskillen, at 11.15am on Sunday 31 March.

Green Party Welcomes Decision To Save Promote Learning Disability Service
The Green Party has welcomed the decision by charity & social, Orchardville, to run the Promote Learning Disability Service in Bangor after it was under threat of closure. Although delighted by the news, Councillor McKee said that it was "disgraceful" that day opportunity placements for 52 adults were put under threat.
