Appeal Following Theft Of 'Lifesaving Equipment' From Fire Station

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following he theft of "lifesaving equipment" from Carryduff Fire Station on Monday, 25 March.

At around 8.30pm, it was reported to police that the fire station on the Comber Road was broken into.

Around 8.30pm, it was reported that the fire station on the Comber Road had been broken into and a number of items stolen.

Following initial enquiries, it is believed that the break-in occurred between 5pm and 8.15pm. It was then discovered that vital equipment was stolen from a fire appliance.

Sergeant Regan said: "It's very disappointing that Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and local firefighters, who work tirelessly for their community, would be targeted in this way that leaves the community without potentially lifesaving equipment.

"We would ask anyone who has any information, CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1839 25/03/24.

"Our investigation is ongoing and your support with our enquiries is very much appreciated."

PSNI Appeal For Information On Fatal Collision Outside Tandragee
The PSNI have named a man who died following a road traffic collision outside Tandragee, as 84-year-old Sidney McIldoon.
