Appeal For Information On Serious Assault In Rostrevor

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Rostrevor on Sunday, 31 March.

At around 9pm, police received a report that man, aged in his 20s, had received serious head injuries after he fell to the ground following an altercation at a licensed premises in the Bridge Street area.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, where he remains. His condition has been described as critical but stable at this time.

A 24-year-old man has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on police bail to allow for further police enquiries.

Detective Inspector Johnston said: "Our investigating is continuing, we want to reiterate our appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the altercation, or who may have other information which could assist with our investigation, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1599 of 31/03/24."

Youths Charged With Maghera Murder
