BCC Welcomes Conviction Of Belfast Man For Dog Attack
Belfast City Council (BCC) has welcomed the conviction of a man at Belfast Magistrates Court for an offence involving a dog attack on a woman.
BCC brought the prosecution against 43-year-old Stuart Grace, of Forthriver Crescent, Belfast, following a report that Mr Grace’s German Shepherd dog had attacked a woman, injuring her arm and back.
Mr Grace was convicted under Article 29(2) of The Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983 following the attack on 27 May 2023.
Mr Grace was sentenced to 80 hours of Community Service and required to pay compensation and other costs totalling £531.
On a further charge of breaching control conditions previously placed on the dog’s licence Mr Grace was convicted under Article 30F(1) of The Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983 and given a conditional discharge for 12 months.

NI To Ban Single Use Vapes
The sale and supply of single use vapes will be banned in Northern Ireland by April 2025, in a bid to stop five million single use vapes being thrown away or littered every week across the UK. Environment Minister Andrew Muir MLA has announced his intention to introduce a ban here, in parallel with the rest of the UK.
