Cannabis Worth Over £2m Seized In Co Tyrone

Two men have been arrested by detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch following a number of proactive searches in County Tyrone.

Officers carried out searches under the Misuse of Drugs Act in the early hours of Saturday 18 May at properties in the Cookstown and Coalisland areas. A significant quantity of suspected cannabis with a street value thought to be in the region of £2.1million was discovered and seized, along with two vehicles and a number of other items.

The two suspects, aged 37 and 48, have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of controlled drugs and remain in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Mullan said: "This is operation has dealt a significant blow to the supply and distribution of drugs in our communities. No drugs are safe and we remain committed to tackling the scourge of illegal substances. We continue to target activity that harms our communities by removing dangerous drugs from our streets and disrupting criminal activity.

Four men have been arrested after police seized suspected cannabis and rounds of ammunition in Newtownards, Co Down. Detectives searched six properties as part of an investigation into the illegal supply of cocaine in the area. Two arrested following police raids
Two men have been arrested following police searches in north Belfast. Two handguns, ammunition, drugs worth an estimated street value of £27,000, documents and around £17,000 in cash, were seized during the raids, which are believed to be linked to organised crime in the city.

Man Jailed For Drugs Offences
A Newtownabbey man has been handed a custodial sentence for a series of drugs offences following police raids as part of a paramilitary probe. 49-year-old William Axon will serve two years imprisonment, half in custody and half on licence.
