Translink Considering Enterprise Service Fare Review
Translink is reportedly considering a review of fares on its Enterprise rail service.
According to the BBC, a Translink executive has said that the company will look at price after BBC News NI highlighted how travellers going from Belfast to Dublin "can be playing more than double" of people travelling from Dublin to Belfast.
Translink operation the Enterprise service in partnership with Irish Rail, but it has been revealed that fares are significantly cheaper in the south of Ireland.
Translink General Manager Bus Service Operations, David Curry, told BBC News NI, that the price difference is because of the difference in subsidies in the north and south, but that the fare disparity would be reviewed "in the near future".
Investigation Launched Into Ballyclare Gas Explosion
An investigation has been launched into the cause of gas explosion in Ballyclare.
One person is being treated in hospital for injuries sustained in the incident, which occurred on the Templepatrick Road on Wednesday morning.
Police, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service all attended the incident.
The surrounding area was closed for a number of hours, but has since re-opened.
Fresh Appeal For Information On Nutts Corner Burglaries
Detectives investigating burglaries at two properties in the Nutts Corner area of Crumlin area on Monday 1 July have issued a fresh appeal for information.
According to police, a window in a rear door of a home in Ballyhill Lane was smashed and the house entered sometime between 10.15am and 12.15pm. A number of rooms were ransacked and cash and jewellery were stolen.
Another burglary at a house on Carmavy Road took place sometime between 9.45am and 1.30pm. It's believed entry to the home was gained via a downstairs window. A number of items were taken including the contents of a child's moneybox which contained their First Communion money.
Detectives are investigating a possible link between the burglaries and would like to hear from witnesses and anyone who may have captured dashcam or any other footage in the area. They can be contacted by calling 101, quoting references 710 and 851 01/07/24.

Man killed on railway track in Antrim
A man has been killed when he was hit by a train on the railway line between Antrim and Ballymena. Fifty passengers were on board the train when the incident happened shortly before 8pm on Thursday November 1 on the track outside Antrim at Drumsough.

Translink Announces Bus And Rail Fare Increases
Translink NI has announced fare increases on bus and rail services from Monday 03 June. The public transport provider has announced an increase its average fares by 6% for bus and 10% for rail. According to reports, Metro ticket prices will increase by an average of 10p, with Ulsterbus and Goldliner tickets potentially increasing by as much as 50p.
