Ministers Meet With New Prime Minister Keir Starmer
Northern Ireland's First and deputy First Ministers have congratulated new Prime Minister Keir Starmer on his win the UK General.
The Minister's spoke with the Mr Starmer after he was officially sworn in as Prime Minister.
First Minister Michelle O'Neill said: "Today we had the opportunity to speak to the new Prime Minister. We discussed a number of critical issues including the challenging budget situation. We pressed upon him the urgent need for the British Government to put a proper funding model in place so that we can provide the public services our citizens deserve."
Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly said: "We had a really constructive discussion with the new Prime Minister. We raised a number of key issues including the importance of investment to ensure fiscal stability for Northern Ireland. We also spoke about the benefits of a building a positive working relationship and strengthening the links between the NI Executive and the UK Government moving forward."
Keir Starmer is in Northern Ireland today, Monday 08 July, to meet with Minister's and political leaders, joined by new NI Secretary Hilary Benn and his chief of staff, and former Stormont civil servant, Sue Gray.

PSNI Chief Constable Jon Boutcher has welcomed Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, to the Northern Ireland Police College, Garnerville, on Monday 19 August. The Chief Constable and Sir Keir met a number of officers injured during recent disorder in Belfast and L'Derry.

Sir Keir Starmer Resigns as Labour Leader and Prime Minister
Sir Keir Starmer has announced his resignation as leader of the Labour Party and stated that he will step down from his role as Prime Minister once a successor is selected. Delivering a statement outside 10 Downing Street on Monday, Starmer confirmed that he will remain in office throughout an orderly transition process.
