East Belfast Fire Being Investigated As Arson

PSNI Detectives have issued an appeal for information following a report of arson at the Dunraven Court area of east Belfast on Monday 26th August.

Detective Sergeant Kitchen said: "Shortly after 3:35am, it was reported that a white Mercedes CLA and a silver Volkswagen Tiguan were set alight. Both cars were completely destroyed, with damage also reported to a red Citroen Berlingo which was also parked in the area. A residential premises nearby received damage to its windows as a result of the heat. Colleagues from Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service attended and dealt with the incident and there were no reports of any injuries.

"Enquiries are continuing and the incident is being treated as arson with intent to endanger life.

"Police would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to the ongoing investigation, to contact them on 101 quoting reference number 184 26/08/24. Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in Belfast City Centre on Sunday, 29 September. According to police, a woman was walking in the May Street/East Bridge Street area around midnight when she was approached by a man armed with a large knife.

Appeal For Information On Ballynahinch Arson Attack
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following an arson attack on a property in Ballynahinch in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 6 April. At approximately 2.30am, police received a report of a fire at an upstairs flat in the Windmill Drive area of the town.
