Police Appeal Issued After Cat Killed In Carrickfergus
Police have launched an investigation after a cat has been killed and several others injured following attacks in the Carrickfergus area over two days.
A number of cats have been beaten and one has been killed in the Eden area of County Antrim.
Local vets have told the police that the injuries have been inflicted by humans. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are appealing for information or witnesses to reported attacks on cats last week in the Eden area of Carrickfergus. A number of cats in the area have been severely beaten and one being killed in the span of two days. Local vets reportedly advised that these injuries had been inflicted by humans.
"If you have any information in relation to this, please call 101 and quote serial reference number 1213 of 26/10/24. Thank you."

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Pet Cat Seriously Injured After Being Set On Fire Co Down
A pet cat has suffered serious injuries after being set on fire in Co Down. The 18-month-old cat named Tiger is being treated for burns at a veterinary clinic. Police described the attack as "utterly disgusting". The owners are very shocked and upset, according to the police.

Police are appealing for information after a cat was shot dead in Kilkeel, County Down. A woman living on the Carrigenagh Road awoke this morning, Monday 23 September, to discover her pet cat had been shot and died during the night. Anyone who was in the area between 7pm on Sunday evening and 7am this morning is urged to contact police.
