Search Begins For New Champion Of Victims' Rights In NI

The Executive has announced a competition to appoint a new Commissioner for Victims and Survivors, with the First and deputy Firs Minister's encouraging "anyone with the relevant skills and experience to apply".

First Minister Michelle O'Neill said: "Ensuring that victims and survivors have a strong independent voice is a key priority for the Executive. The role of Commissioner is essential in supporting this and promoting the interests of victims and survivors.

"We encourage anyone who feels that they could fulfil the role to apply."

Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly said: "The appointment of the new Commissioner for Victims and Survivors is essential to inform the development of policies and help ensure that the longer-term needs of victims and survivors are addressed.

"We look forward to the new Commissioner being in post to support this important work."

The competition is being delivered by HR Connect on behalf of the Executive Office. Details are available through the website www.nicsrecruitment.org.uk. The closing date for applications is 12 Noon on Friday 29 November 2024.
