Two Men Arrested In L'Derry On Italian Extradition Warrants
Two men have been arrested in L'Derry on Wednesday 4th December on Italian extradition warrants.
The men, aged 67 and 29, are wanted in Italy to serve prison sentences for serious assault and child cruelty offences. The crimes allegedly took place in the Brescia area between 2015 and 2019.
The pair were detained by officers from the PSNI's Local Policing Team in Strand Road, working in collaboration with the International Policing Unit. They are due to appear before Laganside Extradition Court today, Thursday 5th December.
Sergeant Davey from the International Policing Unit said: "Todays arrests are another example of the Police Service of Northern Ireland working closely with our national and international partners to locate and arrest those wanted in other countries. In this case we worked closely with Italian authorities and the National Extradition Unit to track down and arrest these two fugitives.
"The Police Service of Northern Ireland is committed to tackling violence against women and girls and today's arrests deliver on our assurance of the relentless pursuit of perpetrators and supporting victims.
"We will continue to work with our partners to locate and arrest those trying to delay or deny justice to victims of crime."

A 54-year-old woman has been extradited from the USA to stand trial in Northern Ireland for a number of fraud offences. The female was initially arrested in the USA in February 2024 and today completed the extradition proceedings with her successful return to Northern Ireland. The offences occurred in NI between March 2008 and October 2010.

Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnapping
Police have arrested two men on suspicion of kidnapping. The males, aged 33 and 31, were detained in Co L'Derry. It is believed there arrests are in connection with an incident in the city on Thursday, 26 October. No further details have been released.

The man is wanted in Germany to face trial on charges of rape and sexual assault against a child.
