Police Seize Drugs In North Belfast

Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) have carried out searches at two properties in the lower Shankill Road area of north Belfast as part of an investigation into suspected drug-related criminality linked to the west Belfast UDA.

During the searches on Thursday, 5th December, officers seized a quantity of suspected Class A, B, and C controlled drugs, as well as a sum of cash.

Detective Inspector Corrigan said: "This morning's proactive operation is a demonstration of the PCTF's commitment to continue to tackle the harm caused by illegal drug use and supply in our communities. Our investigation continues."

Thousands Of Tablets Seized In Post For East Belfast
A 26-year-old man has been arrested after thousands of suspected Diazepam, Xanax and Lyrica tablets, believed to be for distribution in east Belfast, were seized by the police. The tablets were intercepted by the PSNI in postal packages on Thursday, 01 December. The suspect is being questioned at a police station in Belfast.

Man Jailed For Drugs Offences
A Newtownabbey man has been handed a custodial sentence for a series of drugs offences following police raids as part of a paramilitary probe. 49-year-old William Axon will serve two years imprisonment, half in custody and half on licence.
