Renewed Appeal For Missing Man Philip Porter

The PSNI have renewed an appeal for information on the whereabouts of Philip Porter, who has been missing since early December.

The 46-year-old was last seen on the Lurgan Road in Moira at around 2.20am in the early hours of Thursday, 05 December 2024.

Porter is described as approximately 5'7 in height, with grey coloured hair and a slim build. He was last seen wearing navy blue trousers, a navy coloured jacket and a green and black checked shirt. He also had on a navy hoodie with white toggles under his jacket and was wearing black high-top style trainers with beige soles.

Making a fresh appeal for help, Detective Inspector Bell said: "We are asking business owners in the Moira area to check their yards, store rooms and premises as well as asking residents to check their sheds, garages and any outbuildings including fixed security cameras which may have recorded the movements of Philip.

"To any motorists, were you travelling in the Moira and Magheralin areas between 2.15am and 6am on that Thursday, 5th December and did you notice a man matching Philip's description? Please review any dash-cam footage you may have as this could greatly assist with our enquiries.

"Philip had also made reference to family about travelling to the Mourne Mountains, so if anyone is walking in that area and/or believes they may have seen Philip over the last number of weeks, please contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 438 05/12/24.

"You can also submit a report to us online using the non-emergency reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/."

WWII Device Made Safe In Lough Foyle
A World War II device found in Lough Foyle has been made safe, the PSNI have confirmed. A police spokesperson revealed Royal Navy clearance divers carried out a controlled explosion on Wednesday, 12 September, after the device was discovered in the Lough close to the Campsie area of L'Derry.

Man's Body Found In Co Antrim
A 36-year-old man has been arrested after a man's body was found in Co Antrim. His body was discovered on Townhill Road at around 10am on Sunday, 22 October. A post-mortem is to be carried out and his death is being treated as suspicious. Sinn Féin MLA Philip McGuigan said: "The local community has been left in shock by this news.

Pensioner Seriously Injured In Armagh Collision
An 86-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car in County Armagh on Friday morning. Woman Rescued From Cliff Path In Co Antrim
A woman has been rescued from the Gobbins cliff path in Islandmagee, Co Antrim. The Coastguard discovered the woman injured at the bottom of the cliffs at around 8.40pm on Tuesday. She was winced by a Royal Navy Search and Rescue helicopter from Prestwick. She was taken to a hospital in Belfast for treatment however her condition is not yet known.
