Large Fire In Coleraine Believed To Have Been Accidental
A Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesperson has confirmed that a large fire at a commercial premises on Craigmore Road in Coleraine has been brought under control.
The initial call was received at 2.13am on Friday, 17th January. Over 80 firefighters and personnel were involved in the operation to extinguish the blaze.
The roads in the area were closed to traffic while firefighters worked to bring the fire under control. The incident was finally dealt with by 10.29am on Saturday, 18th January.
The cause of the fire is believed to have been accidental ignition.
The NIFRS spokesperson thanked the public for their patience during the incident.

NI's Chief Fire Officer Announces His Retirement
The Chief Fire Officer for Northern Ireland, Peter Craig, has announced that he is to retire after over 35 years of distinguished Service. Peter Craig is one of the longest serving officers in Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service and was appointed as Chief Fire Officer in February 2011, having been the acting Chief from July 2010.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has tackled a large fire at commercial premises on Greenbank Industrial Estate in Newry. The NIFRS received a call at 11.47am on Saturday 13 July. During the height of the incident 16 fire appliances and over 50 firefighters and personnel were involved in the operation.
