Education Minister Thanks EA Staff For Storm Éowyn Response
Education Minister Paul Givan has thanked all Education Authority (EA) staff for their hard work and dedication in responding to the challenges posed by Storm Éowyn.
Speaking after meeting with a number of EA staff, Minister Givan said: "I want to put on record my sincere thanks to all those Education Authority staff who have worked extremely hard, sometimes in very challenging conditions, to protect our school estate and ensure those schools which had to close reopened safely and as quickly as possible."
He acknowledged the significant efforts of staff across all EA departments in supporting schools impacted by the storm.
"Staff from across all departments within the EA really stood up to the challenges and widespread disruption brought by the storm, working long hours to support the Principals and staff of those schools impacted. A lot of this work goes unseen so that is why I thought it was important to meet with some of the staff and thank them personally for their continuing hard work and commitment," Minister Givan said.
The Minister highlighted the dedication of EA staff in ensuring the safety and well-being of schools and the wider education community during the storm.
