Man Arrested Following Drug Seizure In Derry City
Police in Derry City & Strabane have seized suspected drugs and made an arrest during a planned search in the city today, Monday 3rd February.
District Support Team officers conducted a search of a property in the cityside, resulting in the seizure of a quantity of suspected Class B and Class C controlled drugs with an estimated street value of close to £2,500. A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted possession of a Class C controlled drug with intent to supply, Possession of a Class C controlled drug, possession of a Class C controlled drug with intent to supply and possession of a Class B controlled drug. He remains in custody at this time.
District Support Team Inspector Pearce said: "We are committed to tackling the illegal supply and use of drugs and will continue to work relentlessly to tackle this issue. I encourage anyone with concerns or information about the supply or use of illegal drugs to call 101.

The discovery was made after a number of packages addressed to an individual were received at a business premises in the east of the city. Upon inspection, suspected cannabis was found within the packages.
