Man Arrested In East Belfast Following Cannabis Seizure
Police in East Belfast arrested a man and seized suspected cannabis with an estimated street value of £12,000 on Wednesday 5th February.
The discovery was made after a number of packages addressed to an individual were received at a business premises in the east of the city. Upon inspection, suspected cannabis was found within the packages. A man in his 20s was subsequently arrested on suspicion of importing a controlled drug, being concerned in the supply of a Class B controlled drug, and possession of a Class B controlled drug. He remains in police custody at this time.
The suspected cannabis was seized and taken away for further forensic examination.
Sergeant McAleavy said: "The Police Service of Northern Ireland is committed to removing controlled drugs from our streets and investigating those involved in the supply of such drugs.
"I would ask if anyone has any information about suspected drug dealing in their area to call the non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, information can also be given anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111."

A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of suspected cannabis plants worth an estimated £200,000 in Rathfriland. The suspected cannabis farm was uncovered by Newry, Mourne and Down District Support Team officers during the search of a property in the area. A number of items including phones were also seized during the search.
