Murder Investigation Launched Following Death Of Man In Strabane
Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Major Investigation Team have launched a murder investigation following the death of a man in Strabane.
Stephen Holmes, 31, from the Strabane area, passed away on Saturday, 8th February, in hospital from injuries sustained in an assault. Police were alerted to the incident at approximately 3.15am on Monday, 3rd February, when a report was received that a man had been seriously assaulted in the Beechmount Village area.
A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and appeared before Strabane Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 6th February.
"Charges concerning a 31-year-old man who appeared before Strabane Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 6th February in connection with the investigation, will now be reviewed by officers," said Detective Inspector Griffin.

Man Arrested In L'Derry
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in L'Derry. Officers from the PSNI's Terrorism Investigation unit carried out a search at a property in connection with an ongoing on Wednesday, 04 November. A number of items were seized for further examination. The man was taken to be questioned, however he has now been released.
