Former HMRC HQ To Become New 98-Key 'Aparthotel'
The former HMRC headquarters in Belfast city centre is set to become a new 98-key 'aparthotel'.
Dublin-based Staycity Group has announced its first move into the Northern Ireland market with the signing of an agreement to convert Beaufort House on Wellington Place, into an aparthotel featuring a mix of studio and one-bedroom apartments, along with a gym, reception, bar, restaurant, and shop.
"Between the completion of Belfast Grand Central Station bringing more commuters than ever before into the city and major tourism events, concerts and attractions, Belfast city centre is thriving and poses a huge opportunity for short-term accommodation offerings to be successful," said Alastair Coulson, Managing Director at Lotus Property, who secured Staycity as the tenant. "We are delighted to partner with such a well-known operator in Staycity Group."
Staycity Group, which operates the Staycity Aparthotels and Wilde brands, currently has a portfolio of 6,000 apartments across 36 locations in Europe.
"This is a significant deal for us as it marks our entry into another European capital city while strengthening our partnership with The Lotus Group, a key development partner with whom we are pursuing multiple UK projects," said Andrew Fowler, Chief Development Officer at Staycity Group.
The Belfast aparthotel is expected to open in 2026.
