Woman arrested following body find

A woman has been arrested after the body of a man was found in Londonderry last night.

The body of the 49-year-old man was found at a house in Elaghmore Park, Galliagh, shortly before 7pm on Wednesday.

There are no further details at present.

Elsewhere, the body of a woman has been found on the Antrim coast, however it is not that of Freda Mullan who has been missing since last Thursday.

Instead the body found is that of Geraldine Hawkes from Caman Crescent in Ballycastle.

Her body was found by a member of the public at Silver Cliffs, near the town, shortly after 9pm on Wednesday.

The coastguard was alerted and the police were informed, however they say a crime is not suspected.

Police and coastguard meanwhile are continuing to search for Mrs Mullan whose car was found beside the harbour at Portballintrae on Tuesday morning.
