Man Dies Following Lisburn Road Traffic Collision

A 22-year-old man from the Belfast area, Gabriel Johnston, has sadly died following a two-vehicle road traffic collision in Lisburn on Tuesday, 6th May, the Police Service of Northern Ireland has reported.

The collision, involving a car and a lorry, occurred on Sheepwalk Road shortly after 5 pm.

Inspector Cherith Adair from the Collision Investigation Unit stated: "Police received a report of a two vehicle road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry at Sheepwalk Road, at shortly after 5pm on Tuesday 6th May.

"Officers attended the scene, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

"Gabriel Johnston, who was 22 years old and from the Belfast area, and was the driver of the car, was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries following the collision but has since sadly passed away."

Police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances of the collision. They are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dash-cam or other footage that could assist with their enquiries to come forward.
