Petrol bombs thrown at police in Ballymena
Police have come under attack following trouble at a bonfire in Co Antrim at the weekend.
The incident occurred in the Fisherwick area of Ballymena in the early hours of Sunday morning as a number of youths began throwing petrol bombs at passing cars.
When police arrived at the scene with fire crews, petrol bombs were thrown at both officers and their vehicles.
Although no one was injured in the disturbances, a fire engine was damaged and one man was arrested.
Similar to an incident in Belfast on Monday morning, last night's attacks in Ballymena were being linked to revellers attending a bonfire marking the 33rd anniversary of the introduction of internment without trial in Northern Ireland.
