Police Investigate Multiple Vehicle Arson In Lisburn

Police in Lisburn are appealing for public assistance following reports of a multi-vehicle arson attack in the Mullaghglass area. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of today, Wednesday, 9 July 2025, caused significant damage to 14 vehicles.

Sergeant Wallace confirmed details of the incident: "Shortly before 01:00 on Wednesday, 9 July, we received a report that cars were on fire at a property in the Mullaghglass area." Officers, alongside colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS), attended the scene. The NIFRS has concluded that the fire was a deliberate act.

Investigators believe the fire was started at approximately 00:40. According to reports, an individual wearing dark clothing and reflective footwear entered the area, set the cars alight, and then fled over a fence onto the road.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. Sergeant Wallace is appealing to anyone who was in the Mullaghglass area at that time, or who may possess relevant video or CCTV footage, to contact the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) on 101, quoting reference number 57 of 09/07/25.

Murder inquiry launched after Markets body find
A murder inquiry has been launched after the body of a man was discovered in a flat in the Markets area of Belfast. Neighbours found the body in an upstairs flat in Friendly Place at 7.45am on Monday. Police believe the 38-year-old man had been beaten. Two men have been arrested by detectives and are helping them with their inquiries.

Appeal Following Arson Attack In Ballymena
Police are investigating an arson attack in Ballymena in the early hours of Friday morning. Officers were called to reports of a fire in the Dunclug Park area at around 2.45am. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, but a carport, two cars, and several tools were extensively damaged. A third car was also damaged.

PSNI Appeal For Information On Three Arson Attacks
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses to arson attacks in L'Derry, Ballywalter and Newtownards. Shortly before 6.55pm on Saturday 29 April, police responded to reports of a fire at a business premises in the Ferryguay Street area of L'Derry.
