L'Derry Security Alert Labelled 'Elaborate Hoax'
A security alert which occurred in the Gulf Road area of Killaloo, County L'Derry, yesterday (17 July) has been declared an elaborate hoax.
Police received a report that a suspicious object had been located in the area, resulting in officers attending the scene and the closure of Gulf Road at its junction with the A6. A small number of homes were also evacuated while examinations were carried out on the object.
All roads have now been re-opened, and the object has been taken away for further examination. Discussing the incident, Police have said: "An investigation is underway, and officers would appeal to anyone with any information in relation to this incident to contact police at Strand Road".

Suspicious Object Found In Co Antrim Declared A Hoax
A suspicious object found in Co Antrim has been declared a hoax. The Mill Road in Newtownabbey has been reopened. Elsewhere, a suspicious object discovered on the Lisburn Road in south Belfast was also declared a hoax. The road reopened at around 4.20am on Wednesday, 13 July. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Number Of Roads Remain Closed Following Storm Ali

Security Alert In L'Derry
A suspicious object has been discovered on the outskirts of L'Derry. The object was found in a laneway off the Drunahoe Road. Police and army bomb experts are at the scene. The Drumahoe Road has been closed at its junctions with the Fincairn Road and Church Road.
