First Minister Michelle O'Neill hailed the event as a "magnificent success," commending Scheffler's "brilliant performance over the past four days." She noted that while he has enjoyed considerable success on the PGA Tour, this first Open Championship win would be particularly special for him. Ms O'Neill highlighted the tournament's role as "another money-can’t-buy showcase for our beautiful north coast and the amazing product we have to offer to visitors and investors," thanking all involved for making it a huge success.

Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly, who witnessed the world's number one golfer lift the Claret Jug from the grandstand at the 18th green, expressed her delight for Scheffler's fourth major win. She described the atmosphere as "electric" and an "amazing sight," acknowledging Rory McIlroy's effort while praising Scheffler as a thoroughly deserving Champion Golfer. Ms Little-Pengelly underlined that the Championship yet again demonstrated Northern Ireland's excellence in hosting major sporting events, with global television coverage in over 190 countries promising significant benefits for local tourism, hospitality, and the wider economy.

Both the First Minister and deputy First Minister conveyed their gratitude to Royal Portrush Golf Club, the R&A, and the numerous partner organisations, officials, marshals, and volunteers whose collective efforts ensured the Championship's resounding success.
