Appeal As Police Investigate Arson And Woman's Death In Omagh

Detectives in Omagh are investigating the circumstances surrounding a sudden death that occurred on Saturday, 2nd August.

Just before 2.05pm, police received a report from the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service that a silver Mitsubishi Lancer GS2 was on fire in the Rylagh Road area of the town.

As fire officers extinguished the blaze, they discovered that a person had tragically died as a result of the fire. Detective Inspector Keon confirmed that police are treating the fire as arson and that enquiries are ongoing to establish how the person came to be beside the vehicle.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area between midday and 2.15pm on Saturday and noticed anything suspicious to contact them. They are particularly keen to hear from anyone with dashcam or other footage, and anyone who may have noticed the specific vehicle.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following an arson attack on a property in Ballynahinch in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 6 April. At approximately 2.30am, police received a report of a fire at an upstairs flat in the Windmill Drive area of the town.

Police Appeal After Arson Attack In Newtownards
Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.

PSNI Investigating Arson Of Greenisland Church
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a fire at a church and church hall in Greenisland last night, Sunday 1st September. At approximately 9.10pm, police received a report of a fire at the property on the Station Road. Police and the Northern Ireland Fire Service attended and the blaze was extinguished.

Appeal Issued Following Fire In L'Derry
Police are appealing for information following a fire in the Waterside area of L'Derry. The blaze at a site in Dunfield Terrace was reported at around 8.10pm. Inspector Swanson said: "This was a significant blaze. Thankfully, there have been no reports of anyone being injured.
