Police Ombudsman Investigates Portadown Incident

The Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland is investigating an incident involving police and a young man in Portadown on Friday, 13 June.

The incident is believed to have taken place in an alleyway connected to West Street at approximately 10.44pm.

Ombudsman investigators would like to speak to anyone who witnessed what occurred or who may have mobile phone footage of the incident. They are also keen to speak to two men who were in the alleyway immediately before the incident took place.

Two Officers Disciplined Over L'Derry Assault Investigation
Two police officers have been disciplined for serious failings in the way PSNI investigated an assault which happened in a pub in L'Derry in June last year, according to the Police Ombudsman. The victim reported the incident to police and provided them with contact details for himself and a witness.
