Communities Minister Announces £3.3m Funding For Housing Rights
Communities Minister Gordon Lyons today announced a three-year, £3.3 million funding package for Housing Rights.
The announcement was made during a visit to the charity's office in East Belfast, where the Minister met with staff and board members.
Minister Lyons said that addressing homelessness and increasing the supply of housing are among his top priorities.
"This three-year funding package will support the delivery of valuable services, helping those who need it most," he said. He added that the collaborative work of Housing Rights and other organisations is critical to preventing homelessness and supporting people who need help in society.
Kate McCauley, CEO of Housing Rights, welcomed the Minister's support: "Our work to deliver independent, quality, specialist housing advice across Northern Ireland has therefore never been more needed."
She added that the funding will allow the organisation to mark a further three years of support from his department.
