Dangle Academy Launches First Training Centre In Belfast
Dangle Academy has launched a new training division and services centre in Belfast, a move it says will address a significant skills gap in the industrial services and renewable energy sectors.
The facility is the first independent centre in Northern Ireland to offer accredited IRATA rope access, Train the Painter, and workplace health and safety courses all under one roof.
The company says that until now, aspiring technicians in NI were forced to travel to the mainland UK or the Republic of Ireland for accredited training. The new centre aims to provide a faster and more accessible route into a growing industry, particularly with nearly 600,000 new technicians needed globally by 2027 to support the wind energy sector.
Located at a 7,500 sq ft facility at Belfast Harbour, Dangle Academy has invested in state-of-the-art infrastructure, including purpose-built steel platforms for realistic training scenarios. The centre holds the exclusive licence to deliver the internationally recognised Train the Painter programme in Northern Ireland.
Simon Dunn, Founder & Managing Director of Dangle Academy, said: "The launch of these facilities is another significant development for Dangle. It is part of our wider global mission to invest in and up-skill a local technician pool while building confidence for both technicians and clients, on future projects with the goal to be Ireland's first choice for working at height services and industrial training."
The centre's training is aimed at new entrants, skilled tradespeople, and qualified technicians looking to renew or advance their skills. The strategic location at Belfast Harbour leverages the region's industrial heritage and proximity to live infrastructure projects, helping to prepare professionals for real-life, high-pressure environments.
