Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexual Assault In Newtownards
A man in his 20s has been arrested following a report of a sexual assault on a woman in the Talbot Street car park area of Newtownards yesterday, Monday, 25 August.
The man remains in police custody, and detectives have appealed for witnesses to come forward.
The PSNI said: "We would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time, who may have noticed suspicious behaviour, to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 769 of 25/08/25." Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or other footage from the area at the time of the incident.
Alternatively, information can be submitted online using the non-emergency reporting form at psni.police.uk/makeareport or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org.

Man injured in Whiteabbey attack
Police in County Antrim have appealed for information after an alleged assault on a man yesterday afternoon. The incident happened at around 4.20pm in the Doagh Road area of Whiteabbey, when a man was talking to a youth about a matter involving his garden fence. During the conversation, another man arrived at the scene and proceeded to assault him.
