Public Events Announced For Children's Emotional Health Framework

A series of public events have been announced as part of the consultation on the draft Children and Young People’s Emotional Health and Wellbeing (EHWB) Framework. The framework aims to provide a consistent, system-wide approach to children’s emotional health and wellbeing, including for those with neurodevelopmental or related conditions.

To support the consultation, a number of in-person and online seminars have been organised.

• Friday, 29 August, 10.30am to 12.30pm: Committee Room 4, County Hall, Ballymena.

Appeal For Information On Crossmaglen Shooting Incident
The PSNI's Criminal Investigation Department in Newry have issued and appeal for information and witnesses following a shooting incident in Crossmaglen. The incident occurred in the area of Ballsmill Road at around 6:00pm on Monday 4th September 2023.

Over 88% Of Cancer Patients Begin Treatment Within 31 Days
Over 88% of people diagnosed with cancer began treatment within the 31 day target in the four months to September 2022, up from 86% in the previous four months. The Department of Health today published the Northern Ireland Cancer Waiting Times Statistics Release for the quarter ending September 2022.

Driving Tests Increase By 13% In September
The Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) received 6,661 driving test applications in September, 13% higher than in August (5,872) and some 37% higher than the five year September average (4,888). This is according to the latest 'DVA Monthly Tests Conducted Statistics – September 2021' report.

2,000 Social Homes To Be Improved
2,000 social homes across Northern Ireland are to be improved under a new refurbishment scheme set for the next three years. The Stock Transfer Programme, part of Housing Minister Nelson McCausland’s housing strategy 'Facing the Future', will have three phases beginning in September 2013 through to September 2014.

Police appeal over murder of doorman
Detectives investigating the murder of a doorman at the Chimney Corner Hotel last September have re-issued an appeal for information. Stephen Nelson, 55, who had worked at the hotel for several years, was assaulted and seriously injured on September 19, 2004. In a coma since the attack, Mr Nelson died from his injuries on March 18 this year.
