The discovery, which has an estimated street value of £1 million, was made by officers on Tuesday, 2 September.

Sergeant Lowry described it as a "highly sophisticated and well organised operation," stating that the plants and all growing equipment have been seized for forensic examination. While no arrests have been made, an investigation is ongoing, and officers remained at the scene after the seizure.

The sergeant added that cannabis factories often have links to serious criminality, and by dismantling this extensive grow, police have helped to stop unlawful activity. "Drug supply and misuse is a vicious cycle that we need to collectively break, and we all have a part to play," Sergeant Lowry said.

He is appealing to the public for any information that could be of assistance. You can contact police on 101, quoting reference number 517 02/09/25, or provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
