Emergency Services Stage Training Exercise In Belfast

A multi-agency training exercise took place in the Belfast Harbour Estate yesterday, Tuesday, 16 September, to test the readiness and collaborative working of emergency services in the event of a major incident.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland, Belfast Harbour Police, NI Fire and Rescue Service, NI Ambulance Service and HM Coastguard all took part in the planned event.

As a result of the exercise, Queen’s Quay, from the front of the SSE Arena roundabout, was closed to traffic between 8pm and 11pm. The car park, however, remained open and accessible from either side of the closure.

Dungannon School Fire Start Deliberately - NIFRS
A fire at a disused school in Country Tyrone is being investigated as arson, the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has said. The fire at the former St Patrick's Academy on the Killymeal Road, Dungannon was reported on Sunday night.

Road In East Belfast Closed Overnight Following Fire
A road in east Belfast was closed overnight after bonfire material was set alight by youths. The emergency services attended the scene on the Beersbridge Road on Monday night, 16 May. One fire appliance was at the scene and extinguished the blaze. The road has now been reopened.

Man Rescued From River Lagan
A man has been rescued from the River Lagan in Belfast. At around 1.20pm on Friday, emergency services were called to the scene close to the Ormeau Bridge. It was reported a man had fallen into the river but when emergency services reached the scene the man had already been pulled to safety. He has been taken to hospital.
