Man Charged After £300,000 Drugs Seizure At Belfast City Airport
Detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch have charged a 36-year-old man to court, following an arrest at Belfast City Airport on Wednesday, 24 September.
The man was arrested after suspected drugs with a potential street value of approximately £300,000 were seized from the luggage of a man arriving on a connecting international flight.
He has been charged with possession of Class B controlled drugs, possession of Class B controlled drugs with intent to supply and importation of Class B controlled drugs.
He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court today, Thursday, 25 September.
The operation was conducted as part of the ongoing multi-agency approach of the Organised Crime Task Force to target organised crime and the criminality linked to drug importation, supply and use that often results in drug debts, drug addiction and drug-related deaths within communities.
As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
